TELLER WINES

FEBRUARY TELLER 12

Whites

Santa Julia (Pinot Grigio), Argentina

This delightful wine is full of bright crisp fruit accented with delicious herbal notes and citrus. Perfect for sipping on its own or with lighter fish and salads.

Fuego (Rosé of Garnacha), Aragon, Spain

A pretty light pink, this wine is made from 75-year old vine Garnacha grapes. Light fruit, refreshing all year round. Finishes dry.

Sposato (Chardonnay), Mendoza, Argentina

This fruit focused wine has a nose of tropical fruit, apples and peaches. The nose is reflected on the palate along with gentle oak and a soft finish.

Urban (Riesling), Mosel, Germany

Racy and spritzy with ripe aromas of smoky and floral simultaneously on the nose. Brilliant fruit and the classic Mosel slate minerality. Delicious on its own, it is also a perfect accompaniment to sushi or spicy dishes.

Casal Garcia (Vinho Verde), Portugal

A classic blend of native Portugese varietals Loureiro, Trajadura, Arinto and Azal. It’s light, fresh and a little effervescent. Not just a summer wine, you love it watching the Super Bowl or enjoy in front of a roaring fire!

Wente (Sauvignon Blanc), Livermore Valley, California

Estate grown Louis Mel Sauv Blanc is named after a French emigrant, who traveled to the western U.S. in the 1870s and who partnered with first generation Karl Wente to make great wines to rival the French Grand Crus. Soft, supple, velvety body. Paired beautifully at our recent Wente dinner with a tart winter salad.

Reds

Venta Morales (Tempranillo), Spain

This organic beauty shows blueberry, round black cherry and pomegranate fruit with a touch of grenadine confection floating abot it all. Low yield, great value, and one of your top favorites for the past 15 years.

Barista (Pinotage), South Africa

This is an amazing coffee-accented wine (with no actual coffee in it)! Taste mocha and a round palate with judicious oaking and choice of yeast and Pinotage characteristics. Again, a best-seller for the last 15 years.

Hob Nob (Blend), France

The name says it all – Wicked Red- is an opulent blend of fruit forward Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, spicy Shiraz and delicate Pinot Noir. The combination calls to mind mocha, toasted hazelnut and intrique of orange zest.

Domain Mas Barrau (Cabernet Franc), Vin de Pays du Gard, France

There is a wild ripeness of sweet scented fruit twinned with an edgy woodland perfume. The palate is incredibly long and very rich. Scrumptiously juicy fleshy flavors that are counterbalanced and intertwined with a savory crunchy rooty character.

Immortal Zin (Zinfandel), Lodi, California

The Peirano Family has been farming the land for over three decades, harvesting grapes from 100-year old gnarly vines. This Zin is fruit forward and easy drinking. Wonderful with BBQ chicken or a chunk of blue cheese.

Zolo (Cabernet Sauvignon), Argentina

Starts with good berry aromas, a pinch of herbs, leather and smoke. Shows proper structure, bold tannins and generous flavors of cassis and blackberry. Ripe, tannic and dark overall, with spice and bitter chocolate on the finish.
